We currently have five Connect Groups meeting regularly, three in the evening and two in the daytime.
A Connect group is a group of church members who meet together regularly. Our meetings typically consist of chat, coffee, biscuits, Bible study/discussion, prayer and more chat. There is no expectation put upon anyone to participate in any particular way – if you want to come and relax, listen and learn, that’s fine, you will be very welcome. There are variations to the programme including occasional social get-togethers.
All in the context of a very good time had by all!
The groups exist for your benefit. Belonging to a Connect group helps us to:
- ‘Connect with Jesus’
- time to study scripture
- time to apply scripture to our lives and perhaps naming what difference this is going to make to our everyday lives and asking one another next time we meet
- time to pray for one another about our daily lives (which might include hearing from God for one another and practising the spiritual gifts)
- ’Connect with each other’
- time to build friendships
- a place to be honest about our daily lives, to care for and support one another
- time for mutual discipling between meetings (it’s not all about the meeting)
- ’Connect with the wider community’
- time to talk, equip one another & pray for the people both in our daily lives and church ministries we’re involved in.
