Taking message of the love of God out to those who don’t have much or any experience or knowledge of Him.
Following ‘Evangelism Consultations’ that took place during 2019 and evangelism action that we took, we decided that taking the message of the love of God out to those who don’t have much or any experience or knowledge of Him should be a high priority at Gleneagles Anglican Church into 2020. God spoke into that as we formulated our Vision 2020 – see our Vision and Mission Plan page for the details.
“God’s heartbeat – resonating with the immeasurable pain and grief God feels for each person who doesn’t know Him.”
Key verse – Acts 1 : 8 “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses.”

Early in 2020 we ran the Diocesan evangelism training course, “Sharing your faith” in our homegroups. At the same time the themes of our services and sermons was ‘Evangelism – sharing God’s love’ for six weeks. Then in March and April our services were specifically planned to welcome guests. At the time coronavirus restrictions came into place so those services and subsequent ones have all been online.
We continue to try to make our services online visitor friendly and we do appear to have many people viewing who have not previously come to church.
Resonating with God’s heartbeat for those who do not know Him continues to be very important for us, as we look ahead to what we can do to continue to share God’s love as we approach the time when we can have services and meet with people face to face once again.
